Our Daily Bread Community Service Project, CANCELLED   

Monday, March 16 (May be Wednesday, March 18 also), 9:00am - 12:30pm
St. Thomas Episcopal Church Dining Hall, 231 Sunset Avenue Sunnyvale [ Map ]

Our Daily Bread (ODB) is a non-profit community-supported outreach program of St. Thomas Episcopal Church that serves free hot meals three days a week to hungry people without qualification or restriction.

Our group will help with setting up, food prep, etc. starting at 9am. At 11am we will mainly serve the meal and a bit of clean up. ODB will provide apron or if you have a favorite one with pockets bring it along. Casual clothing (Chi Am red polo shirt if you have one), covered toe shoes, hair pulled back if long. No picture taken with diners in it.

Monetary donations are welcome! We will collect your donation and present it to ODB on the day of our service. Please make check payable to Our Daily Bread and mail it to Chi Am Circle, PO Box 2756, Cupertino, CA 95015 or by filling in your name and clicking the Donate button below. We'll forward your donation to Our Daily Bread. Thank you for your generosity!

Fun Community Service opportunity at FCSN (Friends of Children with Special Needs) - Easter & Spring activities. Please volunteer to help young children (3-9 yrs) escorted by their parents to experience a safe Easter egg hunt and do spring craft activities and serve Easter snacks and treats. 2020 Scholarship Award Dinner   

The May 18th Scholarship Dinner Award Ceremony has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Because of the uncertainty of the COVID-19 corona virus, the rules of behavior presently being enforced to contain the virus, and the possible health risks to our students, members, sponsors, and guests, the Scholarship Dinner, scheduled for Monday, May 18, has been cancelled. Alternate plans to honor our scholarship recipients will be communicated as soon as they become available.

This is our premier event highlighting the accomplishments of graduating Asian American high school students. Deserving students are honored with scholarships sponsored by Chi Am and individual Club members.

The speaker of the event is Anne Raimondi - Tech Executive, Investor, and Stanford University Graduate School of Business Lecturer.

Applicants will be notified by mid-to-late April whether they have been awarded a scholarship or not. All awardees must attend the annual scholarship dinner to receive their award.

Awardees are guests of Chi Am Circle.

SIP virtual birthday party. Every first Sunday of the month at 3pm, the Hospitality Team will host a virtual, online Birthday Party to honor members who will celebrate a birthday for that month. As a community service outreach, the committee will purchase, assemble, and fill 40 school backpacks with classroom supplies which will then be donated to students in a currently underserved school. This will be the second year that we will assemble and distribute backpacks to Ben Painter Elementary School in San Jose.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing guidelines, we will not assemble backpacks with school supplies as in the past. However, returning students will need our help now more than ever. Please consider donating funds to purchase paper, notebooks, pens, backpacks by clicking DONATE below.

LifeMoves (formerly InnVision) offers temporary shelter for homeless families and offers assistance with finding stable housing and helps families return to self-sufficiency.

Chi Am Cookbook Project   

Purchase Cookbook here at $25 each plus $8 shiping and handling or no charge for picking up. location to be announced.

This is a project to revise the original Chi-Am Cookbook developed over 40 years ago, and add favorite member recipes frequently requested to create a new updated treasured Chi-Am cookbook keepsake for sale. All proceeds to benefit the Chi-Am community service fund to help defray the costs of supporting other community based organizations.
